Ex-PM Han Accepts Party’s Decision, Pledges Support for Final Candidate Kim Moon-soo

Seoul: Former Prime Minister Han Duck-soo announced that he "humbly accepts" the People Power Party's decision to reject his candidacy for the presidential race, and he committed to supporting the party's final candidate, Kim Moon-soo, in the upcoming election.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Lee Jung-hyun, a spokesperson for Han, conveyed these remarks during a press briefing following the party's plenary meeting. The People Power Party (PPP) had voted down a motion proposed by its leadership to substitute Kim with Han as the party's presidential candidate.

Kim Moon-soo, who previously served as a labor minister, earned the party's nomination after succeeding in the primaries. Despite Han outperforming Kim in public opinion polls against Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party's candidate, the PPP decided to uphold Kim's nomination.

Han expressed his acceptance of the party's decision and his intention to contribute to Kim's campaign. "I humbly accept everything and will assist in the election," Lee quoted Han as saying. Han also conveyed his desire for Kim's success in the election and pledged to offer his support in achieving this goal.
