LUCENA CITY: The municipal government of Agdangan in Quezon province will soon have a Super Health Center (SHC) to service the medical needs of residents.
Mayor Rhadam Aguilar said in a text message Saturday that his town will be among the 18 jurisdictions in Quezon province where an SHC will be built.
SHC is envisioned as a vast improvement over traditional government-managed health centers as it is equipped with modern diagnostic facilities and more patient amenities.
“Right now, SHCs are already being built in our neighboring towns of Sariaya, Tayabas City, Dolores, Tiaong and Tagkawayan, it is about time that residents of Agdangan also get one,” Aguilar said in Filipino.
Agdangan is a fifth-class municipality with a population of 12,764 individuals as of the 2020 census.
The SHC program is a brainchild of Senator Christopher Go.
Meanwhile, 2,000 residents here received PHP2,500 cash each Friday from the Local Government Support Fund.

A total of 500 beneficiaries of the Department of Labor and Employment’s Tulong Pangkabuhayan para sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) likewise received their salaries after 10 days of working for the government.
TUPAD is a community-based package of assistance that provides emergency employment for displaced workers, underemployed workers, and seasonal workers for a minimum period of 10 days, but not to exceed 90 days.
