TYDA Provides Free Medical Check-Ups to Nearly 5,000 Residents in Preah Vihear Province

Preah vihear: Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony Hun Manet, Vice President of the Board of Samdech Techo Voluntary Youth Doctor Association (TYDA), led a team of TYDA volunteer doctors and local authorities to provide free medical check-ups and treatment to 4,826 residents, equivalent to 9,480 consultations, in O’ Po village, Romny commune, Rovieng district, Preah Vihear province.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, during her interaction with local residents, Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony highlighted the continued care and attention of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate; Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian Red Cross; and Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister, who consistently prioritise the health and well-being of the Cambodian people through free medical services.

She noted that 410 specialist doctors participated in this outreach, offering comprehensive services including general health check-ups, dental care, echography and gynecology, cardiology, eye examinations, minor surgery, proctology, orthopedics, dermatology, ENT care, X-ray imaging, blood testing, and referrals for further treatment in severe cases.

‘If grandparents, uncles, aunts, and brothers and sisters are found with severe illnesses, our team will arrange referrals for continued treatment at the provincial hospital or in Phnom Penh, with all treatment, accommodation, and meals fully covered by Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet,’ she assured.

Residents expressed gratitude for the free medical services provided, acknowledging the leadership’s commitment and Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony’s personal dedication in bringing healthcare services directly to their communities.

The First Lady stated that although this was the first TYDA mission to the area, there could be future visits, with a possibility of Prime Minister Hun Manet joining the mission on subsequent visits.

During the visit, she also distributed school bags, gifts from Samdech Techo Hun Sen and Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen, to students of the Try Pheap Boeung Tonle Mrech Primary and Lower Secondary School in the area.

TYDA’s mission involved 410 medical and volunteer personnel, serving 4,826 residents with 9,480 treatments. Forty-two severe cases were referred for further treatment in Phnom Penh, with all expenses fully covered under the personal support of Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet and Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony.
