Phnom penh: Samdech Kitti Sangahapundit Men Sam An, President of the Cambodian Women for Peace and Development Association (CWPD), convened a hybrid meeting today to outline and advance the organisation’s strategic mission. The gathering, held via Zoom with a physical presence at the Ministry of Information, brought together senior leadership, including Lok Chumteav Tuy Serey Ratanak Neth Pheaktra, Honorary President of the Cambodian Women for Peace and Development Association at the Ministry of Information, alongside honorary members, executive committee officials, and female leaders from the ministry’s five general departments.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, in her opening address, Samdech Kitti Sangahapundit Men Sam An conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen, the Honorary President of the CWPD, acknowledging the ongoing dedication of the association’s members. Samdech Men Sam An reflected on the CWPD’s historical legacy, detailing its founding, its role during the nation’s liberation struggle, and its sustained humanitarian and social work in the current era of peace.
She commended the courage and sacrifices of past and present leaders, whose efforts she stated were instrumental in securing Cambodia’s peace and development. She also extended gratitude to CWPD members nationwide for their active participation in humanitarian initiatives and their collaboration with the Royal Government in supporting frontline soldiers, their families, and citizens affected by displacement along the Cambodia-Thailand border.
During the meeting, the association’s leadership and members collectively expressed their profound appreciation for the Cambodian armed forces. They honoured the troops’ unwavering commitment and sacrifices in defending the nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
