Phnom Penh: More than 4,000 residents of Pursat province received free general health checkups and medical treatment this morning, courtesy of volunteer doctors from the Samdech Techo Youth Volunteer Doctor Association (TYDA). The medical mission, led by Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony Hun Manet, Vice Chairwoman of TYDA’s Board of Directors, took place at Preah Mlou High School in Bakan district.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, prior to the commencement of services, Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony conveyed warm wishes from Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate; Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian Red Cross; and Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet to the attendees. Highlighting the significance of the outreach, she noted this marked her seventh time leading a medical team to serve the people of Pursat. Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony also emphasized Samdech Thipadei Prime Minister Hun Manet’s strong commitment to enhancing healthcare in his new term, with a particular focus on expanding Intensive Care Unit (ICU) services and ensuring healthcare accessibility in even the most remote communities.

Accompanied by a team of over 400 specialized physicians, Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony oversaw the provision of a comprehensive range of medical services. Elderly men and women, along with other citizens, received consultations and treatment in areas including general medicine, dental care, echocardiography, gynecology, cardiology, ophthalmology, minor surgical procedures, hemorrhoids, joint disorders, dermatology, and ENT (ear, nose, and throat). On-site diagnostic capabilities included X-rays and blood tests.

Dr. Pich Chanmony assured that patients with serious conditions would be referred for advanced treatment in Phnom Penh, with full support from the Prime Minister and herself. A total of 4,336 citizens benefited from the medical outreach, resulting in 6,998 consultations. Fifty-eight patients with more complex medical needs were identified and referred for further care. Local residents expressed their deep gratitude to Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony and the three Samdechs for the provision of free, compassionate medical services.
