Ministry Flags Dengue Fever Prevention and Treatment

Phnom penh: The Ministry of Health has urged thorough treatment service provision and safety measures to prevent dengue fever amidst the seasonal rising of the infection in Cambodia. In its announcement on July 10, the ministry highlighted that dengue transmission normally increases from the end of April 2025 throughout the rainy season.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the ministry observed increases in small concentrations in some villages, communes, and districts, requiring regular monitoring and pre-response. The ministry advised local health authorities to constantly guide residents in their respective areas on both prevention measures and access to treatment services.

It has also assigned a response team to spray mosquito repellents and coordinate with relevant authorities to disseminate the prevention measures against dengue. The ministry urges all citizens to remain vigilant and engage in efforts to reduce and eliminate mosquito breeding sites at home and in their neighbourhood.
