MFA Press Statement: Visit by Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan to the Argentine Republic, 5 to 7 April 2017

Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan will make an official visit to the Argentine Republic from 5 to 7 April 2017. This will be Minister Balakrishnan’s first visit to Latin America as Foreign Minister.

During his visit, Minister Balakrishnan will call on President of the Argentine Republic Mauricio Macri and have meetings with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Worship Susana Malcorra, Minister of the Treasury Nicolas Dujovne and Minister of Modernisation Andres Ibarra. Minister Balakrishnan will also meet the Foreign Ministers of Mercosur, at the invitation of Minister Malcorra, while in Buenos Aires.

In addition to the official meetings, Minister Balakrishnan will deliver a speech at the Argentine Council for International Relations, the leading think-tank in Argentina, on “Building Links between Latin America and Asia in an Uncertain World”.

Minister Balakrishnan will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Finance, and the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority.
