Man Arrested for Outrage of Modesty within 24 Hours

The Police have arrested a 33-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of Outrage of Modesty.

On 30 March 2017 at about 9.55pm, a 32-year-old woman reported to the Police that she had been molested by an unknown man along Marine Drive.

Through extensive ground enquiries and with the aid of Police Cameras (PolCams), officers from Bedok Division established the identity of the suspect and arrested him on 31 March 2017.

Investigations against the man are ongoing. Anyone convicted for the offence of Outrage of Modesty under Section 354(1) of the Penal Code, Chapter 224 is liable for a jail term of up to 2 years, or with fine, caning, or with any combination of such punishments, upon conviction.
