Joint Enforcement Blitz Nets 13

Thirteen people were arrested following a 14-hour joint enforcement operation that commenced at 10 am on 17 January 2017 (Tuesday).

The operation was jointly led by Ang Mo Kio Division and Central Narcotics Bureau Enforcement “F” Division, and was supported by officers from the Singapore Civil Defence Force’s (SCDF) 3rd SCDF Division. The officers conducted checks at public housing estates in Yishun, Ang Mo Kio, Sengkang, Serangoon and Jalan Kayu and public entertainment outlets in Yio Chu Kang.

A total of eight men were arrested for drug-related offences. Nine straws of heroin and other drug-related paraphernalia were seized as case exhibits.

In addition, 5 women were arrested under the Provision of the Women’s Charter. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects were believed to be advertising sexual services via online websites and were operating within residential areas. Cash amounting to S$1600 and 5 handphones were seized as case exhibits.

Investigations against the suspects are ongoing.
