Phnom penh: Head of the Royal Government Spokesperson Unit, H.E. Pen Bona, this morning reminded Cambodians at home and abroad to remain vigilant against false information circulating widely on social media. ‘Such false information seeks to tarnish the reputation of Cambodia’s leadership and the nation as a whole, while sowing division and undermining our national unity, which serves as the strongest shield for protecting our territorial integrity,’ he said at a press briefing held at 11:00 a.m.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, he urged the public to rely only on accurate information disseminated through official channels, including statements from Cambodia’s top leaders, the Government Spokesperson Unit, and authorised and verified sources from relevant ministries and institutions.

The spokesperson also reappealed to his fellow citizens to remain patient, uphold dignity and maturity, and stay steadfast in their trust in the country’s leaders to safeguard peace, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
