GBC Secretariat Meeting Convenes to Prepare for 2nd Special GBC Meeting on Oct. 23

Kuala lumpur: The General Border Committee (GBC) Secretariat Meeting commenced today at 18:00 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, according to H.E. Lt. Gen. Maly Socheata, Spokeswoman of the Ministry of National Defence of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, in this meeting, both parties discussed and exchanged documents to prepare for the upcoming 2nd Special GBC meeting, scheduled to be held on Oct. 23, 2025. The meeting aims to further enhance the full and effective implementation of the ceasefire, seek practical cooperation to promote peace and stability between the two countries, and facilitate a swift return to normalcy.

The Cambodian delegation was led by Maj. Gen. Nhem Boraden, Chief of the Cambodian GBC Secretariat, while the Thai delegation was headed by Lt. Gen. Nuttapong Praokaew, Chief of the Thai GBC Secretariat.

The GBC Secretariat Meeting is scheduled from Oct. 20 to 22, 2025, under the observation of several key parties: the Heads of the Interim Observer Team (IOT) of Cambodia and Thailand, representatives of the U.S. Military Attach©s Office to Cambodia, Thailand, and Malaysia, and representatives of the Malaysian side.
