Enforcement Operations Against Massage Establishments And Public Entertainment Outlets

The Police have arrested 16 women, aged between 22 and 40, during a series of enforcement operations against massage establishments and public entertainment outlets along Outram Road, Lorong Telok, Beach Road, Jalan Besar, Kitchener Road, Perak Road, Robinson Road and Syed Alwi Road on 26 and 27 September 2018.

During the enforcement operations conducted by Central Police Division, two licensed massage establishments were found to have contravened licensing conditions. Six women, aged between 27 and 35, were arrested for offences under the Women’s Charter.

During the enforcement checks on public entertainment outlets, two outlets were found to have contravened licensing conditions. 10 women, aged between 22 and 40, were arrested for offences under the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act.

Actions will be taken against the operators for flouting the rules and regulations under the Public Entertainment Act and Massage Establishment Act. The Police takes a serious view of anyone found breaking the law and will continue to take tough enforcement stance against such activities
