EGNC and ACIOA to Host 4th Forum (BruDirect (Brunei))

The e-Government National Centre (EGNC) and Asean Chief Information Officer Association (ACIOA) will be hosting the fourth Asean CIO Forum themed “Global Competitiveness – Optimising Technological Advances” in Brunei Darussalam.

The forum will be held on June 8 and 9 at The Rizqun International Hotel and over 250 participants from Asean, government and private sector chief information officers, chief technical officers, project managers and IT entrepreneurs are expected to attend.

Asean CIO Forum is an annual event to promote innovative collaborations among government, businesses, institutions and citizens. Its objective is to promote sharing of best practices by running a highly interactive and engaging forum for CIOs from within Asean and beyond.

The forum is set to provide opportunity for networking and relationship building among ICT players in Asean, which ultimately aims to synergise and establish the Asean CIO Association.

The key highlight of this year’s plenary session topics are cloud services, Internet of Things, smart cities and social media. The forum will also hold a dialogue to share Asean countries’ experiences. Nominated Asean delegates will be sharing their experiences, plan and knowledge on applying technology in their countries at this session.

On the following day, the delegates will be invited to take part in a roundtable discussion that will be chaired by the ACIO. They will also visit several of Brunei’s technical innovation centres during their learning excursion.

The extensive plenary session topics are expected to give participants an opportunity to explore and gain information from professional organisations and speakers on topics related to technological advancements.

The Asean delegates will also be able to share and learn how technology could be applied or has been applied in their countries. The CIOs and IT entrepreneurs will project the future technology needs at the forum.
