President of the ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, has sent a thank-you letter to H.E. Jusuf Kalla, Executive President of the Centrist Asia-Pacific Democrats International (CAPDI) and Former Vice-President of Indonesia.
“On behalf of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) and on my behalf, I would like to express my profound thanks to Your Excellency for your kind words of congratulations on my party’s election victory and the leadership transition in Cambodia to the new government under the leadership of H.E. Hun Manet,” read the letter dated Aug. 31.
He also thanked H.E. Jusuf Kalla for endorsing a delegation of international observers to observe the recent election.
“Cambodia values her long-standing relations with Indonesia. We appreciate Indonesia’s essential role in Cambodia’s peace settlement in the late 1980s and early 1990s and continued support of Cambodia’s roles in ASEAN and the international fora,” he underlined.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen took the opportunity to reassure H.E. Jusuf Kalla that the CPP-led government under Prime Minister Hun Manet will continue to promote cooperation with the Republic of Indonesia through bilateral and multilateral mechanisms to enhance peace and stability in the region and achieve greater prosperity for the people of ASEAN and beyond.
