Phnom penh: The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) and China’s Huawei company have engaged in discussions regarding the adoption of digitalisation to streamline operations in both public and private institutions, aiming to advance digital innovation in Cambodia. This conversation took place between Deputy Prime Minister and CDC First Vice President H.E. Sun Chanthol and President of HUAWEI Southeast Asia Multi-Country and CEO of Huawei Technologies (Cambodia) Mr. Tao Guangyao on July 17 at the CDC office.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the dialogue focused on accelerating the digital society and economy in line with the Royal Government of Cambodia’s Pentagonal Strategy-Phase I and the country’s Digital Economy and Society Policy Framework 2021-2035. H.E. Sun Chanthol expressed appreciation for the discussion and cooperation, emphasizing the government’s initiative to establish a Digital Technology Industrial Park. This park aims to enhance digital literacy, foster startups, and attract investment in the digital sector.
Mr. Tao Guangyao conveyed gratitude for the CDC’s support and its pivotal role in creating a favorable environment for Huawei’s growth in Cambodia. He also briefed H.E. Sun Chanthol on the progress of Huawei Group and Huawei Technologies (Cambodia).
