CDC and Cambrew Ltd. Discuss Modernisation and Reform Initiatives

Phnom penh: The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) met today with a delegation from Cambrew Ltd., a subsidiary of the Carlsberg Group, to review and discuss the company’s ambitious modernisation and reform plans aimed at bolstering product quality and market competitiveness.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the meeting, held here on Tuesday morning, was chaired by H.E. Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice President of the CDC. Cambrew Ltd.’s delegation was led by Mr. Michiel Oerlemans, the company’s new Managing Director in Cambodia, who made a courtesy call and initiated the discussion with the Deputy Prime Minister.

The core focus of the session was Cambrew’s presentation, which covered an overview of its operational history in Cambodia, current business activities, beverage production chain, and distribution network. Crucially, the company detailed its new modernisation and reform strategies designed to strengthen its brand reputation and enhance product competitiveness within an increasingly dynamic market. The delegation also sought strategic insights and recommendations from the Deputy Prime Minister to support its future initiatives.

In his remarks, H.E. Sun Chanthol welcomed the delegation and acknowledged Cambrew’s continuous commitment to modernising its operations. He expressed confidence that the company’s beverage brands would maintain their growth trajectory and consumer support.

Furthermore, the Deputy Prime Minister offered several key recommendations for the company’s consideration, placing a particular emphasis on the development and implementation of robust Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes and activities.

Mr. Oerlemans, on behalf of Cambrew Ltd., expressed profound gratitude to the Royal Government of Cambodia and the CDC for their ongoing support and facilitation since the company’s inception, and thanked the Deputy Prime Minister for his valuable strategic input.
