Phnom penh: The Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has disclosed the results of two significant diplomatic meetings held recently. These meetings involved the ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Interface with the ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights Representatives (AICHR) and the Southeast Asia Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zone Commission (SEANWFZ).
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the outcomes of these meetings were made public this evening, highlighting key discussions and agreements reached among the ASEAN member states. The ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Interface with AICHR focused on addressing human rights issues and promoting regional cooperation to uphold human rights standards. The meeting underscored the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing challenges and ensuring the protection of human rights across the region.
Meanwhile, the SEANWFZ meeting concentrated on reinforcing the commitment of ASEAN countries to maintain Southeast Asia as a nuclear-weapon-free zone. The discussions aimed at strengthening the implementation of the SEANWFZ Treaty and enhancing cooperation among member states to prevent the proliferation of nuclear weapons in the region.
