Tokyo: Members of the Cambodian community residing in Japan have issued a strong condemnation of what they describe as repeated violations of Cambodia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity by Thai forces, urging the Thai government to respect international law and existing bilateral agreements.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the community shared a unified condemnation during a gathering in the centre of Tokyo and Kyoto on Oct. 12, 2025. They expressed their condemnation over the Thai forces’ repeated encroachment in Prey Chan village, Banteay Meanchey province, which is within Cambodia’s territory and sovereignty.
The Cambodian community’s rally submitted petitions to the U.S., Malaysian, and French embassies in Japan to call for condemnation of the Thai forces’ violations and to take urgent and decisive measures to pressure the country to stop these actions.
Organisers said the rally was held with the main purpose of condemning the violations of Cambodia’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity and the human rights violations against Cambodian citizens. The Cambodian community in Japan demands that the Thai authorities immediately stop all acts of abuse and violence and respect the ceasefire agreement, the spirit of the GBC and RBC agreements, the MoU 2000, and human rights principles as well as applicable international humanitarian law.
