Cambodia Reaffirms Commitment to G77 and China and Multilateralism

Geneva: H.E. Ms. TEKRETH Kamrang, Secretary of State at the Cambodian Ministry of Commerce, has emphasised Cambodia’s unwavering commitment to the G77 and China and to multilateralism, which has long served as a powerful and indispensable voice for the Global South.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Ms. TEKRETH Kamrang expressed Cambodia’s strong support for the Ministerial Declaration of the Group of 77 and China during her statement at the G77 and China Ministerial Meeting. This meeting took place on the sidelines of UNCTAD 16 at the United Nations Office in Geneva, Switzerland, earlier this week. The declaration reaffirms the Group’s solidarity and shared commitment to the principles of multilateralism, development, and cooperation.

H.E. Secretary of State also underscored the utmost importance of peace as an absolute prerequisite for development. She called for renewed peace, international solidarity, and collective commitment to ensure that no one and no place is left behind.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Group adopted a Ministerial Declaration outlining its position on the current global economic context, the state of the multilateral system, and its implications for developing countries.
