Phnom penh: The 4th Military Region of Cambodia convened a preparatory meeting today to lay the groundwork for the upcoming Extraordinary Cambodia-Thailand Regional Border Committee (RBC) meeting scheduled for next week.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Lt. Gen. Maly Socheata, Under Secretary of State and Spokesperson of the Ministry of National Defence, shared this update during a regular press briefing held at 11:00 a.m. The objective of the preparatory meeting is to ensure that the upcoming RBC meeting proceeds smoothly, constructively, and achieves positive outcomes.
The forthcoming RBC session aims to build on the spirit and agreements reached at the Extraordinary General Border Committee (GBC) Meeting between Cambodia and Thailand, which took place on August 7, 2025, in Kuala Lumpur. Cambodia continues to reaffirm its stance that borders cannot be altered through the use of force and emphasizes the importance of resolving all border issues through technical processes and international legal mechanisms.
