Cambodia Observes World Walking Day Under Theme ‘Walk for Peace’ in Kampong Cham Province

Kampong cham: Cambodia has this year observed World Walking Day under the theme ‘Walk for Peace,’ highlighting the priceless and magnificent value of peace, that is like oxygen, something everyone needs every day. The celebration took place in Kampong Cham province on Oct. 5 under the presidency of H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, and H.E. Un Chanda, Governor of Kampong Cham province, with the participation of approximately 6,000 people, including senior officials, civil servants, Buddhist monks, businesspeople, students, and members of the public.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the event aimed to contribute to promoting tourism growth during the Green Season, to publicising the tourism potential of Kampong Cham province, and to showcasing to the world that Cambodia enjoys full peace, strong unity, and harmony throughout the nation. Speaking on the occasion, H.E. Huot Hak said that the event demonstrates the invaluable and noble values of peace, national unity, and the spirit of solidarity, fraternity, and peaceful coexistence – all of which were achieved under the wise leadership of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Former Prime Minister and Acting Head of State of the Kingdom of Cambodia, the Supreme Architect and Outstanding Implementer of the Win-Win Policy.

He added that peace continues to be well preserved and nurtured under the capable, decisive, and pragmatic leadership of Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia. H.E. Minister further emphasised that sports tourism events play a crucial role in promoting tourism potential, while also creating new momentum to make tourism products more diverse and attractive through the diversification of sports tourism activities.
