Cambodia Experiences Surge with Over 5 Million Air Passengers in Nine Months

Phnom penh: Cambodia welcomed some 5.1 million air passengers during the first nine months of 2025, marking a 14 percent increase compared to the same period last year, according to a report from the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation (SSCA) released on Tuesday.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, from January to September, the country’s three international airports handled over 40,000 flight movements, up 12 percent year-on-year, with air cargo volume also rising by 14 percent to 64,513 tonnes. Currently, 32 airlines operate flights to and from Cambodia’s international airports, including four domestic and 28 international carriers.

The SSCA noted that more international airlines are expected to launch flight services to Cambodia before the end of this year. The Draft National Policy on Air Transport 2025-2035 aims to further boost the aviation sector, setting ambitious targets of 25 million air passengers and 205,000 tonnes of air cargo by 2035.
