Phnom Penh: The Ad Hoc Cambodia-U.S. Bilateral Relations Coordination Working Group conducted a virtual conference on June 25 with the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative to advance bilateral trade negotiations between the two nations.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the Cambodian delegation was led by H.E. Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, and H.E. Mrs. Cham Nimul, Minister of Commerce. The U.S. delegation was headed by Ms. Sarah Ellerman, Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for Southeast Asia and the Pacific.
In this meeting, both parties applauded the progress achieved in previous negotiation rounds and presented additional proposals for further consideration. Both sides expressed readiness for the next round of negotiations and reiterated their commitment to working closely towards a mutual agreement that would benefit both countries.
The press release reaffirmed that the Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia, under the leadership of Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei HUN Manet, remains committed to cooperating with the United States to establish a beneficial trade and investment relationship.
