Kuala lumpur: Cambodia and Thailand are set to convene the 2nd Special General Border Committee (GBC) Meeting in Kuala Lumpur from October 20 to 23, 2025.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, on October 19, the 4th and 5th Military Regions of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces sent communications to the Thai 1st and 2nd Army Areas about the forthcoming Cambodia-Thailand Regional Border Committee (RBC) meetings. The Cambodian representatives have acknowledged the Thai request to hold these meetings but suggested a delay until the 2nd Special Meeting of the Cambodia-Thailand GBC concludes in Kuala Lumpur.
Once the 2nd Special GBC Meeting concludes, the Cambodian 4th and 5th Military Regions will continue discussions with their Thai counterparts to arrange the RBC meetings. These discussions will leverage the outcomes of the GBC to ensure effective collaboration in fully implementing the ceasefire, fostering practical cooperation to enhance peace and stability between the two nations, and expediting a return to normalcy.
