Phnom penh: Cambodia and Norway have reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing collaboration between their private sectors, which is seen as a key driver for resilient, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, this commitment was highlighted during a meeting held in Phnom Penh on October 7 between H.E. Ms. TEKRETH Kamrang, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Commerce, and H.E. Ms. Astrid Emilie Helle, Ambassador of Norway to Cambodia. The meeting focused on discussing and exchanging views on mechanisms to bolster bilateral trade relations.
During the discussions, H.E. Significant strides have been made, including the formulation of the Cambodia Trade Policy Framework 2030, the development of a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) portal, and the promotion of digital trade.
The Secretary of State further urged the Norwegian delegation to consider establishing a joint mechanism and engage in private-sector consultations to facilitate this collaboration.
In response, H.E. Ms. Astrid Emilie Helle provided insights into Norway’s economic landscape, welcomed the proposals from the Cambodian side, and expressed interest in participating in various relevant programs organized by Cambodia’s Ministry of Commerce.
