Amnesty International USA: Families Must Not Be Separated at the Border

In response to news reports on Secretary Kelly’s recent meeting on immigration and family detention, Denise Bell, Senior Campaigner for Refugee and Migrant Rights at Amnesty International USA, had the following reaction:

“Secretary Kelly’s pledge not to separate families at the border is welcome, but he must follow through. If he breaks this promise, Congress must hold him to account. The U.S. cannot continue to treat people fleeing violence and insecurity like criminals.”
