Phnom penh: Samdech Moha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly (NA) of Cambodia, is set to lead a high-level parliamentary delegation on an official visit to Hungary prior to her participation in the 8th Paris Peace Forum in France.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the visit to Hungary, scheduled for October 24-28, 2025, is at the invitation of H.E. L¡szl³ K¶v©r, Speaker of the Hungarian NA. This visit aims to fortify the friendship, solidarity, and cooperation between the two countries, while also expanding their partnership on a global scale.
During her visit, Samdech Khuon Sudary will engage with senior leaders from Hungary’s legislative and executive branches. A key event will be a bilateral meeting with H.E. L¡szl³ K¶v©r, culminating in the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two national assemblies to enhance and broaden their cooperation.
The agenda in Hungary also includes meetings with Cambodian students studying in the country and visits to industrial, tourist, and cultural sites. These activities aim to strengthen people-to-people connections and promote cultural, tourism, trade, and investment exchanges.
Following the Hungary visit, Samdech Khuon Sudary will lead the Cambodian delegation to the 8th Paris Peace Forum, scheduled in Paris from October 29 to 30. During the forum, the NA President is set to deliver remarks at a plenary session on ‘New Alliances for Peace, Humanity, and the Planet’, participate in a roundtable discussion on ‘Facing Fractures: Sovereignty in a Fragmented World Order’, and join a debate on ‘Divisions and Confrontations: Geopolitical Changes in Asia.’
On the sidelines of the Forum, she will meet with several heads of delegation, development partners, and H.E. Ms. Ya«l Braun-Pivet, President of the French NA, to further strengthen friendship and enhance cooperation at the legislative and executive levels.
This visit highlights Cambodia’s active role in parliamentary diplomacy, promoting peace, mutual understanding, and national interests.
