Japanese Film Festival 2025 in Cambodia to Feature Screenings in Four Cities

Phnom penh: The Japanese Film Festival 2025 in Cambodia, marking its 11th edition, is set to unfold from October 2025 to January 2026 across four cities: Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Battambang, and Sihanoukville.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the festival will begin in Siem Reap from October 24 to 26 at Legend Cinema Siem Reap and continue in Sihanoukville from November 14 to 16 at Legend Cinema Sihanoukville.

In Phnom Penh, the festival will feature screenings at multiple venues. These include Major Cineplex AEON Mall Phnom Penh and Major Cineplex AEON Meanchey from December 6 to 7, followed by Institut fran§ais du Cambodge from December 9 to 13, and Major Cineplex AEON Sen Sok from December 12 to 14. The festival will wrap up in Battambang from January 9 to 11, 2026, at Cinema Ek Phnom.

Organized by the Japan Foundation in collaboration with the Embassy of Japan, the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, and the Cambodia-Japan Cooperation Centre (CJCC), the festival seeks to reinforce cultural ties between Japan and Cambodia. It aims to showcase the depth of Japanese cinema through a diverse array of films.

The festival, which has been held annually since 2015, will offer free admission to Japanese films of various genres, providing audiences with insights into Japanese society, life, and culture. It remains a significant platform for cultural exchange and mutual understanding between the two nations.
