19 Arrested during Joint Enforcement Operation led by Ang Mo Kio Police Division

A week-long joint enforcement operation, led by Ang Mo Kio Police Division and supported by Central Narcotics Bureau Enforcement F Division and 3rd SCDF Division was conducted from 8 to 14 January 2018 in Sembawang, Yishun, Ang Mo Kio, Serangoon, Hougang, Sengkang and Punggol estates.

During the operation, six men and 13 women were arrested. A total of 36 residential and commercial units, and 130 persons were checked.

Amongst the arrests, 11 women were arrested under the provisions of the Women’s Charter. Preliminary investigations revealed that the subjects were believed to be advertising sexual services online and operating within residential areas. Cash amounting to S$1,240 and 11 handphones were seized for investigations. Another six men and two women were arrested for suspected drug-related offences.

One massage establishment was also found to be operating without a valid licence.
